The Evansville Region has adopted the E is for Everyone brand as an aspirational statement of what our community wants to become. Great strides have been made since then in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, but there is still a lot more to be accomplished in transforming organizational cultures from within.
HOLA, a non-profit created in 2002 to enhance appreciation of cultural diversity and promote the successful inclusion of Latinos in the community, has partnered with Ivy Tech Community College, University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana, Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana and Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP) to develop a comprehensive leadership series with the outcome of: Providing participants with the leadership and advocacy skills to shape organizational culture.
The HOLA Latino Professional Development Series is a comprehensive program delivered by faculty members from the three higher education partners in combination with keynote speakers. Participants will have six one-day sessions, rotating between the three institutions, over a period of a year and culminating in a graduation ceremony. We are inviting organizations to identify and sponsor up and coming Latino talent that can participate in the first cohort of this program, with the goal of preparing them for career advancement within the organization or developing Latino suppliers. The inaugural group will kickoff at Ivy Tech Community College on July 14th, 2022.
